The duo of George Sansome & Matt Quinn is an exciting collaboration between two leading lights of their generation of traditional singers. Their well-blended voices and close harmonies create a warm, enthralling sound, and their English folk instrumental styles complement each other perfectly. Their debut album, Sheffield Park, was released in 2023.

George will be familiar as one-third of Granny’s Attic. He has a passion for storytelling and a gift for tapping into the human experience; a singer who gets right to the roots of what traditional music is all about. Refreshingly open, expressive and engaging, his performances place a spotlight on human stories, with masterful guitar arrangements that showcase impressive skills while giving the songs themselves the space to shine.

Matt, who also performs in the Dovetail Trio with Rosie Hood and Jamie Roberts, is renowned for his traditional singing as well as his skills on the melodeon, concertina and mandolin. Originally from Brighton and now residing outside Sheffield, Matt has performed both on the UK folk scene and further afield, from small folk clubs to Glastonbury and WOMAD and appearances in the Netherlands and Iceland.

Jo Girdlestone taught herself to play guitar as a child, busking in her youth, studying drama and music at Kent University and working for many decades in theatre as an actor musician and as a songwriter. These days she's been featured on BBC Radio Kent Folk and regularly gigs around her home patch in south-east London and beyond. Jo’s love of stories drives her song writing - described as lyric driven, filmic, folky, spiritual and elemental. Releases include her debut album Somewhere Before (2021). Jo is joined this evening by Scottish songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Malcolm MacWatt, no stranger to TwickFolk and a unique voice in British folk/Americana. Hailing from Morayshire with the Highlands and the North Sea as a constant backdrop, Malcolm was raised listening to the folk lore and music of Scotland.
