Ian Francis Keye & Seymour Glass

Seymour Glass has been taking up space in San Francisco for decades, via Bananafish (the now-defunct zine dedicated to all things keeko-bleeko), as well as outsider dorkestrations of Bren't Lewiis Ensemble, and, with Barbara Manning, Glands of External Secretion. This show is a duo with Ian Francis Keye, and so dear punters may confidently expect to experience sound collage, sweet electronic jolts, distressed loops, disembodied voices, grinding and thuds, and a general flirtation with non-musical music. In other words, date night.

Marc Matter

Marc Matter works between sound and language. His works appear on records (Futura Resistenza, Chocolate Monk, Mount Analogue, Slim Volume, Spoken Matter), as commissioned works for radio and as live performances. These performances are mainly based on samples: fragments collected from radio, TV, and the internet and can therefore be considered ’sample poetry’ – a kind of sonic poetry based on found sound material. These fragments are recombined as clusters or loops, resulting in a quasi-musical formal approach and triggering collisions of sound and meaning. He is part of Institut für Feinmotorik, co-runs the Spoken Matter label, and helps curate Salon des Amateurs (Düsseldorf) and the series Acephalic Headspace (Berlin).

Feghoots

Errant electrics and sample slosh.

Vicky Sparrow

Vicky Sparrow works across poetry, sound art, performance and criticism. Her improvisations with voice and objects produce ambivalent textures between poetry and music, playing with rhythmic layered textures and shifting sonic patternings in search of a re-visioned horizon. Elliptical Movements calls her work “distinctive verbal music.” She has performed at Café Oto, Colour out of Space, Matt’s Gallery, Hundred Years Gallery, and elsewhere. Her poetry collections are stand ins (RunAmok, 2023) and Notes to Selves (Zarf, 2016); her writing appears in Vortext, Ludd Gang, Writing Utopia, datableed and elsewhere.
