CLSW perform a Sunday afternoon concert, with a fascinating programme of music evoking landscapes and vistas of various northern climes, some of which is being performed in the UK for the very first time. The programme will include pieces by prominent English composers David Bedford (Sea and Sky and Golden Hill) and Philip Sparke (Aurora Dances) together with Canadian pieces 'Grouse Mountain Lullaby' (Chatman), 'Fall Fair' (Ridout) and 'Ontario Pictures' (Cable). Completing the programme is 'The Saga of Tyrfing', inspired by Norse mythology, by Norwegian composer Jacob Vilhelm Larsen (in an arrangement by the composer for symphonic winds), the beautiful 'Winter Sunrise' by Keiron Anderson, and a brilliant arrangement of Björk's 'Jóga', written partly in tribute to her native Iceland (Björk/Yarde-Martin).
