It seems only right that after the rigours of the Covid age we should welcome live music back to Claypath Deli with one of Durham’s finest bands - the mighty BUBAMARA who are sure to give the evening a right kick up the Balkans with their unique blend of Sicilian skiffle, Cossack ska, and songs plucked from the hash houses of Greece.

Bubamara is truly a high energy Mediterranean infused extravaganza - the brainchild of Ivor Pop: a songwriter and performer with an effervescent, internationalist approach to music. Inspired by Pop’s time spent living in a kibbutz and his travels across Europe, Bubamara’s music incorporates klezmer, Anatolian grooves and pre-pop folk music. Expect to have fun in this menagerie of folk-punk exotica.
