George is currently studying jazz in the 4th year at the Royal Academy of Music in London. He started playing the trumpet and jazz under Jon Eno in Derby with Hot House Music. This first sparked his passion for jazz which lead to him forming his own jazz group back home with friends. He played for many ensembles in his youth including and verity of big bands where he played lead trumpet that played in many different styles including swing, funk and latin music. In 2022 he attended the National youth Jazz collective (NYJC) where he met many of his peers today and deepened his jazz understanding. As well as jazz and more contemporary styles George has played for many different orchestras across the east middlelands and has also been a soloist. He now studies under Nick Smart, Tom Walsh and James Copus just to name a few all of which inspire and push him to do his best. At the academy he began to write and arrange his own composition which have been heard in venues around the country. He has written for many different ensembles including small group jazz tunes for quartet and quintet some of wich he has arranged up for may different horn front line including 4 front line (trumpet, alto sax, tenor sax and trombone) and 5 front line (with barry). He also enjoys arranging classic jazz standard for a jazz quartet with a string quartet. This band has performed in London and across different venues in the UK.
