Event information

On Wednesday 4 November, Baden Prince Jnr brings his show "What a Woman" to Northampton’s Storytelling at the Feast of Fools.
"What a Woman" celebrates Baden's Caribbean heritage and honours his grandmother, who was his guardian between the ages of 1 -15 years.
It consists of a mixture of folk tales, personal memoir, poetry and spoken word. By turns informative and entertaining, humorous and dark, it contains elements of the supernatural while providing insights into what it was like growing up in a vibrant Caribbean household headed by an indomitable matriarch.
We’re delighted to welcome Baden’s return visit to the Feast of Fools.
He has established a considerable reputation as a storyteller in recent years, with a series of appearances including the East Anglian Storytelling Festival, the Morocco International Storytelling Festival in Marrakesh, and in July of this year the Festival at the Edge at Bromyard; he’s also appeared at Bromyard, Cambridge, Chippenham and the New Forest Folk Festivals. Oh yes, and Glastonbury!
… among others – the list keeps growing.
He has a wonderful ability to engage the audience, between his warm presence, his quick wit and that most valuable asset for an oral storyteller, a superb voice.
This show received rave reviews at the Festival at the Edge - don’t miss this chance to see it here!
As usual, our doors will open at 7.00, the event starts at 7.30, and the famous cakes will be available, along with the Feast of Fools welcoming atmosphere and comfortable seating in the lovely Quaker Meeting House.

` We believe the car park next door is back! After being used as a council builders' yard for some months, it was re-opened for our June session.
If it's closed again, we suggest aiming for "Upper Mounts Parking" on your satnav.

Bus routes run up The Lower Mounts, where there's a stop just near the BBC building, from where you can walk down Abington St & up Wellington St, or up the Lower Mounts and along Lady's
