Hamilton Caledonian Bowling Club Male Voice Choir
Conductor: Christopher Barr
Accompanist: John Taylor
Hamilton Caledonian Bowling Club Male Voice Choir was founded in 1946 by a group of bowlers in Hamilton, South Lanarkshire, who enjoyed gathering for impromptu sing-alongs that soon blossomed into a formal choir. Over its long history, the choir has become one of Scotland’s well-known male voice choirs, welcoming members of all singing abilities and performing a wide range of music in concerts and community events. The choir proudly promotes male voice singing throughout Lanarkshire and beyond, sharing the rich tradition of choral harmony it has built over decades. In a major milestone for the group, they have just returned from performing at the London Welsh Festival of Male Choirs at London’s Royal Albert Hall, a prestigious festival that brings together male choirs from across the UK and the world,, marking an exciting international performance opportunity on one of the UK’s most iconic stages.
Glasgow Male Voice Choir
Conductor: Audrey McKirdy
Accompanist: Silviya Mihaylova.
We are a Male Voice Choir with about 40 active Choristers, divided into the normal Sections used by Male Voice arrangements: First Tenor, Second Tenor, Baritone and Second Bass. Today, proudly performing as the Glasgow Male Voice Choir, we blend our rich heritage with a modern, inclusive outlook. Led by Conductor Audrey McKirdy and Accompanist Silviya Mihaylova, we perform a diverse and vibrant TTBB repertoire that spans traditional Scottish songs, show tunes, spirituals, and classical masterpieces. Beyond the concert stage, we are dedicated to supporting local charities, fostering young singing talent, and keeping the joy of male choral music alive. Rehearsing weekly from September to May at Hillington Park Church in Cardonald, we operate with a no-audition policy, welcoming all men who share a passion for singing and community.
