Establishing themselves as one of the most exciting acts on the Cambridge music scene, Brazilian music band Cores Do Samba continues to perform to sold out audiences delivering their uplifting, exuberant and colourful shows.
This performance will celebrate the women whose voices have shaped Brazilian music and Jazz, exploring iconic songs that carried Bossa Nova, Samba and MPB from Brazil to the world. From Bossa Nova pioneers Astrud Gilberto, Nara Leão, Elis Regina and Joyce to Carmem Miranda, Tânia Maria, Rosália de Souza, Leila Pinheiro, Cássia Eller and Beth Carvalho. The show will bring together beloved Brazilian songs, performed in Portuguese and English, with fresh interpretations.
Fronted by Caru Lins, who has performed at prestigious venues across the UK, including Ronnie Scott’s, Jazz Cafe, Spice of Life, Brown’s Hotel, and internationally such as No Black Tie in Kuala Lumpur, Platea Jazz in Panama and Stampen in Stockholm. Cores Do Samba features Vicki Kenny (piano), Giulio Isacco Lampronti (double bass), Paul Stubbs (trumpet), Micky Astor (guitar) and Cambridge jazz legend Les Cirkel (Drums).
