Event information
Primarily this event is open to anyone wanting to try their hand at stand up comedy but really it's for anyone (musicians, story tellers, actors, teachers, workshop leaders, speechifiers etc.) who want to sharpen up their stagecraft and get some laughs aloing the way. Decribed by one participant as, "A crash course in feeling comfortable in front of people".
The workshops are open to anyone from complete beginner and upwards. The workshops are led by an incredibly experienced professional stand up comedian and workshop leader Paul "Silky" White.
Free-wheeling stand up and barnstorming songs from one of the safest pairs of hands in the business, performing internationally since 1994. Silky is a triple threat: comedian, musician, improviser. No two shows are the same, but they’re all joyful. You’ll laugh, you’ll be open-mouthed as he invents entire songs live, and you’ll be humming the tunes for years.
QUOTES ABOUT SILKY'S WORKSHOPS
“Silky gets it and so will you… focused on exactly what we needed to progress. Practical, insightful, brilliant.” - Chris Percy
“Brilliant workshop- you share your wisdom and valuable knowledge freely. Whether beginner, some experience or just curious- the teachings are superb. And it was great fun too!” - Pauline
“A wonderful opportunity to do something different and learn about yourself under pressure. And most importantly, have a laugh!”
Trudi, Hult Ashridge, Corporate Workshop Client
”Silky arranged an outstanding night of comedy for us that has gone down in history as one of our best ever events! Raucous laughter filled the room and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive from our guests…. Absolutely BRILLIANT! Thank you so much. What a fantastic evening! I'm so grateful. Thanks again, one of our best ever events!” - Mair Lewis, RWE
"The whole event went well and was very well received by our team… One of the best things was that it helped less confident team members open up and build confidence around their colleagues. The morning workshop was fun and certainly a talking point of the day …not just anyone can do what you guys do and it was successful because of the years of experience that culminates in your ability to confidently deliver the workshop - so the event will be remembered long after the cost is forgotten. I’m just a tight Yorkshireman. All in all, a really exciting thing to do” - Thomas, MD, Digitronix
