Ben Boardman is bringing his newly formed octet to Jazz at the Grafton. The band features Klara Devlin, Elliot Wong, Dylan Chandler Pardo, Joe Evans, Toby Evans, Laurie Rich, and Rishi Dhillon. They will be playing two sets of all new originals and arrangements with influences from Micah Thomas, Or Bareket, and Joel Ross.

Ben Boardman is a Canadian bassist, improviser, and composer. Originally from Vancouver, Ben spent five years in Montreal, and now lives in London, UK. Ben is quickly establishing himself as an up-and-coming bassist on the contemporary jazz scene, leading his own quartet and octet that feature his original compositions and arrangements. When he isn’t leading his own groups, Ben is a sideman on a number of other projects; appearing on releases with Nick Semenykhin and Bryn Roberts, and a forthcoming album with Elliot Wong, among others. Ben recently concluded his postgraduate studies at the Royal Academy of Music, studying primarily under Orlando Le Fleming and James Maddren.
