Event information

Diana Silveira rose to fame as runner-up on a major televised singing competition in Portugal. Almost overnight, she became a household name, building one of the largest social media followings in the country (fun fact: at one point, she had more followers than football legend Cristiano Ronaldo). Yet rather than embrace celebrity culture, Diana recognised it didn't align with her values as an artist. She stepped back from public life entirely, changing her name and, deleting all her social media profiles, she deliberately entered the more anonymous world of a working singer.

This new found role took her across continents. She spent time living in Paris, where — in a fun twist — she became the "Great Gig In The Sky' singer for a Pink Floyd tribute band. Later, she was invited by (Buckley collaborator) Gary Lucas to perform at a prestigious Jeff Buckley tribute in New York City, and later, London.

Her growing reputation in the UK was further cemented in February 2020, when she took part in the Masterlink Sessions, produced by Stefan Redtenbacher. Together, Diana and Stefan co-wrote the song "Money Ain't No Truth," featuring many renowned musicians. The track premiered on SoulTracks.com, the world's leading resource for soul music, based in the USA. On the basis of this one recording alone, BiGiAM secured various high profile Festival bookings in the UK but the pandemic killed these opportunities stone dead and Diana was eventually forced to return home to Portugal.

Post Covid, an extended sojourn to Canada was followed by a fledgling UK tour with a crack band of heavily CV'd and connected musicians. This led to an unforeseen invitation to contribute to the double album Clouds and Jugglers (The Songs of Syd Barrett), alongside the likes of Pink Floyd, David Gilmour, and Kula Shaker and other notable names. She boldly chose to cover "Octopus" — one of the most complex tracks in Syd's catalogue, traditionally classified as prog rock — and once again made it her own with a smokey, soulful and trippy arrangement, which many reviewers marked as the album’s standout track.

In addition to the album feature, Diana was subsequently invited to be part of the prestigious accompanying live event at the Cambridge Corn Exchange; other acts including Soft Machine, one of Diana's most favourite bands, and the aforementioned Kular Shaker. A last minute decision to perform a largely improvised piano and voice version of 'Shine On You Crazy Diamond' genuinely stole the show. The performance received the only standing ovation of the night, the audience videos went viral and everyone, from promoter, press and public alike, declared it as the moment of the event.

Having found her true artistic direction, Diana defies categorisation. Her sound is an almost imperceptible blend of genres — progressive in spirit, often heavy and dark-edged, yet swimming in soul and groove. It's a sound you feel before you can name, as influences surface and dissolve into something distinctly her own. She draws from rock, soul, blues, prog and more, each lending a thread to a sound that's unmistakably hers: a rock-fuelled, charismatic performing powerhouse with soulful authenticity running through every note.
