Event Information

Royal Traditions Folk Club:
The evening will start with a tune session followed by two sets by ‘the turn’. There is then a singing session from about 10.00 ‘til chucking out time.

‘House songs’ are sung intermittently throughout the night and these can be found on the Royal Traditions website.

PLEASE NOTE
Seating is limited.
We only sell as many advance tickets as there are seats, but you are welcome to stand at the bar or behind partition which has a great view of the act.
Most events sell out well in advance so please buy tickets early to avoid disappointment. There will be plenty of standing room available on the night for which we will pass the hat around.
All ticket and hat money goes straight to the artist – we cover our costs through the ever-lovable raffle.

The club is held in a public bar so there may be some background noise.

Day Long Workshop:
Run in partnership between Soundpost and Royal Traditions, these day-long workshops give you the chance to really get under the skin of something. Then, in the evening you get to watch the artist doing a performance, and put your newly learned skills to the test in the after-show session.

This workshop is aimed at those wanting to get started in the world of singing. Come along and have a go in a supportive and encouraging environment. Learn the basics and develop ways of improvising harmony. But we stress, there are no technical requirements - you will develop all you need to know during the course of the day.

10.30 - Registration and coffee
11.00-12.30 - Session 1 | Have a go at singing
12.30-1.30 - Lunch (either at The Royal next door or bring a picnic)
1.30-3.00 - Session 2 | Learn the basics
3.00-3.15 - Coffee break
3.15-4.45 - Session 3 | Intuitive harmony (we won't be using "dots" or expect anyone to know anything about music theory)
4.45-5.00 - Closing chat

Dungworth Chapel (next door to The Royal) with an hour off for lunch at the pub (or picnic in the chapel if you prefer).
