Organised by the non-profit voluntary group the Solway Trust, and Making the most of Maryport's beautiful harbour and strong maritime tradition, this new summer festival really will offer fun for all the family!
The newly expanded, three day Harbour Festival, incorporates the Annual Trawler Race, Spring Family Funfair and Live Music Marquee and will take place at Maryport Harbour from the 24th to 26th May. With a terrific entertainment roster planned and a diverse section of vendors, stalls and exhibitions, we're elated that the much-anticipated family event will bring amazement, excitement and fun to the local area over the bank holiday weekend!
Situated on the stunning coastline of the Solway Firth at Maryport, West Cumbria, Weekend Tickets are now available for our Harbourside Marquee - Allowing entry into the main marquee, at fantastic value, for the full festival weekend for only £25!
The Harbourside Marquee:
Friday night will start with a bang with British Rock legends "Mostly Autumn" bringing their epic sound that has toured the world to the harbourside marquee, with local hard-rocking stalwarts "The Bullfrogs" and "Collision" providing the firm footing for an explosively entertaining evening!
Saturday will take listeners in the Marquee on a musical voyage through the ages! Fresh from the running of the annual trawler race, festival goers will be transported to the 1950's with the golden age of rock and roll with "the 45's" before swiftly being whisked away to the Irish folk revival of the 60's with Kilkenny's own "Keltic Kats!"
Later in the evening, fresh off winning 'Best new band' at the Scottish variety awards, "Finding Albert" will start to get things into gear with their nationally acclaimed rock Stylings! Next up, "AWOL" will provide the high-energy rock classics of the 70's and 80's, culminating with the amazing "Blondied" getting the audience dancing to the many hits of Debbie Harry and Co!
The marquee on Sunday provides a rare treat for music lovers, with a tantalising mix of blues, rock and folk being performed by the likes of "13 Stars, "Stark" and Secure Unit.
Later on "The Duncan McFarlane Band" is sure to get the crowd going with some rowdy folk-rock before Local favourites "Sarah & the Stormchasers" take to the stage. Things really start to get into swing when "Louis Barabbas & The Bedlam Six" bring their unique brand of Lyric-Driven Dirt-Swing to Maryport, perfectly getting the audience in the mood for Martin Turner, bringing his Rock Legends Wishbone Ash on stage to close the festival with a string of their Classic Rock favourites!
