THE MASSACRE AT PARIS

For the first time in over four centuries, Christopher Marlowe's brutal, incendiary and extraordinary last play returns to the Rose. First performed in January 1593, just four months before his murder, Marlowe's dramtisation of the St Batholomew's Eve Massacre and its aftermath. retelling contemporary French history 1572-1589. It is the often viewed as the most controversial play of its time.

Tuesday 11th to Saturday 29th March 2014 at 7.30 pm Sunday 16th March at 1.00 pm Only. Sunday 23rd March at 3.00 pm Only.

Performed uncut. Running time 90 minutes. Not recommended for young children

The Rose is an indoor archaeological site, it is advisable to dress with an extra layer as there is no heating. There are also no toilets so please use Shakespeare's Globe just a few hundred metres away.
Please arrive 15 minutes before the production starts to pay for or collect your tickets.
