Embarking on their first-ever UK and European tour, the Moroccan rock band Meteor Airlines is set to captivate audiences with their unique “Amazigh Rock” sound. From Tinghir in southeastern Morocco, a city famous for its stunning Atlas landscapes, Meteor Airlines infuses their music with profound cultural, historical, and environmental significance.
The AGDAL tour, named after their 2024 album, is a tribute to the rich heritage and ecological wisdom of Morocco’s Amazigh communities. This album musically explores climate vulnerabilities, resilience, and traditional Amazigh environmental knowledge. “Agdal,” a term rooted in Amazigh culture, symbolizes an ancient system of sustainable land and water management, reflecting the band’s commitment to preserving cultural and natural heritage amidst the climate crisis.
“Through a powerful blend of music, poetry, and striking visuals, Meteor Airlines brings to life the stories of Morocco’s diverse landscapes, from communal oases to the majestic Atlas Mountains. The AGDAL album serves as a call to action, urging the protection of these vital ecosystems and the cultural legacies they sustain.” – Rachid Ennassiri, Manager of Meteor Airlines.
London audiences can look forward to a unique performance at the 93 Feet East on October 31st, 2024. Don’t miss the opportunity to experience Meteor Airlines’ soulful beats as they embark on their tour.
