Mike McKenzie is a BBC award winning songwriter, producer and recording artist based in Edinburgh, Scotland. Mike has released multiple singles, EP’s and, most recently, his debut solo album 'I'd Wait Again'. Described by The List as “A melting pot of Scottish folk, jangle pop and Americana”, this latest offering received immediate support from BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio 4, BBC Scotland and over 120 regional stations throughout the UK.
Extensive touring has seen Mike perform at King Tut’s in Glasgow, Queen’s Hall in Edinburgh, Green Note in London, Hyde Park Book Club in Leeds, SoFar Sounds throughout the UK and Paris, and join festival lineups including TRNSMT, Hidden Door, Edinburgh Hogmanay and Edinburgh Pride. He has opened for established touring artists including Lucy Spraggan, Wet Wet Wet, Horse, Chris Helme (The Seahorse) and Rianne Downie, and performed live on BBC Radio 4's 'Loose Ends' with Clive Anderson and multiple times on BBC Scotland including 'The Quay Sessions with Roddy Hart', 'The Afternoon Show' and 'Grant Stott's Vinyl Revival'.
Outside of his solo work, Mike is a prolific writer and collaborator, having previously worked on projects with Creative Scotland, LGBT Health & Wellbeing, PJ Moore (The Blue Nile), Black Lilys and Haquin as well as regularly writing with artists and songwriters from around the world.
