South Coast Jazz Festival

Now a firmly established fixture on the South Coast, Claire Martin and Julian Nicholas are delighted to announce that thanks to the kind support of Arts Council England, The South Coast Jazz Festival will be returning for a third time in January 2017.

Expanding on the success of the previous years events, the core weekend event at Ropetackle Arts Centre will be complemented by a further seven days of concerts, workshops and special events at local venues 'The Verdict Jazz Club' and Hove's 'The Old Market.'

The festival will forge new alliances with fellow jazz supporting organisations and develop its existing relationships in order to deliver a cohesive and comprehensive programme that will not only showcase emerging and young artists alongside some of the very best performers from todays British Jazz scene but will also reflect the rich and culturally diverse landscape of jazz today.

Legendary British jazz funk band 'Incognito' will launch the festival with a special party night in December and the January programme will commence with a performance from up and coming pianist David Drake. Headliners for the rest of the festival include Alec Dankworth's 'Spanish Accents', Zoe Rahman, Sarah Jane Morris, Jim Mullen's Organ Trio, Ray Gelato's Giants and the schedule of workshops and seminars will cover jazz education, the music business, Jazz for Juniors and instrumental masterclasses.

Jazz FM is available on DAB+ in Shoreham-on-Sea, Hove, Brighton and surrounds having recently returned to National DAB. Playing a unique mix of jazz, blues and soul, the station regularly features festival favourites Incognito, Ray Gelato, Claire Martin and Dennis Rollins.
