Washing Machine is a live music clubnight based at The Hunter Club in Bury St Edmunds Rock City. Founded in 2011, the night was chiefly inspired by Fugazi's $5 principle, Bill and Ted's universally-applicable ethos of being excellent to each other whilst partying on and what Tony Wilson would have called 'an excess of civic pride'.

In addition to our own nights, we regularly work alongside the Bury St Edmunds Fringe Festival, BurySOUND Music Competition and Toonteen Artist Management.

WASHING MACHINE IS A SAFE SPACE
We take audience safety very seriously at The Hunter Club, and strongly believe that gigs can and should be safe spaces, free from harassment, intimidation, prejudice, bullying and violence. We expect that all artists, venue staff and attendees will respect our values, and we have a zero tolerance policy towards those who do not. Anyone who endangers the enjoyment and safety of others at a Washing Machine night will be ejected and barred. It is unfortunate that this far into the 21st Century we still have to say this stuff, but we hope that by doing so we can help to create an atmosphere where everyone feels safe and able to enjoy themselves.
