With Spring in full bloom, Trilogy Ensemble returns bringing music with a seasonal twist to the glorious acoustics of The Green Man Gallery.
Come along for warm Romantic music selected by the ensemble to best show the delights of the three instruments: harp, flute and viola. With this music comes scenes of nature - the forest, star signs and three Celtic poems. They will also be bringing some local folk-songs arranged especially for this event, and back by popular demand, is Latin-American favourite: Submerged by Miguel del Aguila, first performed at the gallery in December 2021.
Trilogy Ensemble are Amy-Jayne Milton, flute; Henrietta Hill, viola; Bethan Griffiths, harp.
Formed in 2019 by these three professional musicians who love chamber music and playing together, Trilogy have toured across the UK and love performing in local venues where they can really get to know audiences.
They came to The Green Man Gallery in December 2021 and couldn't stay away! The acoustics are just brilliant for flute, harp and viola. The stage is literally made for a concert harp too. They are building a reputation for varied and warm programmes, with music everyone can enjoy live They are known for collaborating with composers, and recently premiered a new work by David Lancaster. They are just embarking on a new project connecting Debussy's famous Sonata with the winds of Toru Takemitsu's trio and a new work by local composer Joseph Shaw. This year they are helping the Wolds Festival (N. Yorkshire) celebrate the Queen's Jubilee celebrations as well as appearing in York Late Music. If you stay at the end, the ensemble's favourite thing to do is to watch Bethan load her harp into her car (Amy & Henri still can't work out how she does it!). Ask the musicians lots of questions, they love meeting people and talking about music and their instruments.
