Event Information
On Saturday September 28th, just down the road from the now legendary "Western World" of the 1980s, hold onto your hats for Jolene, a country and western clubnight playing the outlaws and the classics, the ballads and the beauties beneath the disco lights at Blaenrhondda Social Club.
It's a night for sitting around with a whiskey under candlelight, looking at the stars above Pen Pych through the bottom of a glass, talking about the ol' valley drunks and lovers, the Caroline (not Carolina) shootouts and jailhouses, singing every word and shooting it up on the big ol' dancefloor till your knees are weak.
We play everything through the ages from The Carter Family to Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton to Neko Case and Don Gibson, Hank Williams to Lucinda Williams, Kitty Wells to Glen Campbell, Patsy Cline to John Denver, Tammy Wynette to Taylor Swift, Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys to Townes Van Zandt, anything with a sweet pedal steel guitar and drunken fiddle swing, and the ballad of your broken dreams.
